Open Field was established in February 2007. The establishment of Open Field was preceded by several years of work of a group of people around Rena Milgrom, CMA, dancer, teacher, choreographer and dance-movement therapist.
The long-term interest in the study of culture and traditions of Asian countries is reflected in the number of projects they have accomplished. 2002 to 2004 saw the „Dance in the Rhythm of Zambra“, 2004 - „Magic fingers, dancing feet“. The next year, „1000+1 Fingers“, „Persian Inversion“ and other projects followed.
The stimulus to establish the Open Field was the Silk Road project (2006 to 2007). This symbolic cultural journey from China to Europe created a space for international artists to meet and work together. Positive feedback to this unique project contributed to establishing Open Field as a citizen-action group aimed at supporting and giving a legal framework to our organizational and artistic activities and helped us on our path of bringing people and cultures closer to each other.
